NASA is a community-driven club created by Nisargshala for stargazers and astrophotographers. Located just a few hours from Pune and Mumbai, our campgrounds provide the perfect dark sky conditions for observing and photographing celestial wonders. If you own a DSLR camera or a telescope and want access to the best stargazing location near Pune and Mumbai, this club is for you.

Located within easy reach of both Pune and Mumbai, Nisargshala offers one of the best stargazing locations in the region. Our campgrounds are carefully chosen to offer the best possible night sky views, free from the light pollution that plagues most city and suburban areas. Whether you’re a beginner who’s eager to learn more about astronomy or a seasoned astrophotographer looking for the perfect shot, NASA offers the environment you need to fuel your passion. The yearly membership allows you access to the campgrounds for 24 nights a year, giving you ample time to plan your trips around significant astronomical events like meteor showers, lunar eclipses, or clear, moonless nights for perfect astrophotography sessions.

तेजोमेघांच्या विश्वात @ निसर्गशाळा नेब्युला ला मराठीत तेजोमेघ म्हणता येईल. हा विविध रंगी, प्रकाशमान असा की तेजाचे वलय डोळ्यांचे पारणे फेडते. म्हणजे तेज असतेच पण तें मेघामुळे म्हणजे ढगामुळे अधिकच सुंदर दिसते. तेजोमेघांमध्ये असणारे हे मेघ आपल्या ढगासारखे नसतात. आपले ढग पाण्याचे असतात तर हे ढग ब्रह्मांडतील विविध वायु व धुळीचे असतात. सोबतच्या फोटोत दोन तेजोमेघ दिसताहेत, पहिला अगदी घोड्याच्या तोंडासारखाच दिसतोय त्याला नाव देखील तेच आहे, Horse Head Nebula. तेजोमेघांच्या वरील ठोकळ वर्णनाला हा नेब्युला अपवाद आहे. यात मेघ आहे पण तेज अर्थात प्रकाश नाही. म्हणूनच मी यास तमोमेघ असा शब्द नाव वापरु इच्छितो . तेजस्वी नसला तरीही हा दिसतो कारण हा नेब्युला अंतरीक्षातील आणखी एका खुप मोठ्या तेजोमेघामध्ये आहे. हा मोठा तेजोमेघ(Bernard's loop) या फोटोत दिसत नसला तरी त्याची प्रभा दिसतेय horse head च्या मागे. Horse Head हा डार्क आहे. त्याचा डार्कनेस फोटोत स्पष्ट दिसतोय. दुसरा आहे Flame तेजोमेघ. हा एखाद्या मशालीतुन बाहेर पडत असलेल्या ज्वालेसारखा दिसतो. या फोटोत दोन निळसर तारे देखील दिसताहेत. यातील मोठा जो आहे तो मृग नक्षत्रातील, व्याधाने मारलेल्या बाणातील शेवटचा चा तारा आहे. उघड्या डोळ्यांना हे तेजोमेघ दिसत नाहीत. हे पाहण्यासाठी फोटोग्राफी तंत्रज्ञानाचा वापर करावा लागतो. हा फोटो काढला आहे हौशी अस्ट्रो फोटोग्राफर रोहित पटवर्धन यांनी, निसर्गशाळा येथून दि ५ फेब्रुवारी २०२२ च्या रात्री. हा फोटो काढण्यासाठी सव्वा तास कॅमेरा सुरु ठेवावा लागला. फोटोग्राफितील या प्रकारास astrophotography म्हणतात.

Do's and Don'ts for NASA Members:

Do's

  • Respect Camp Guidelines: Follow the rules provided by Nisargshala staff for a safe, enjoyable experience.
  • Bring Your Own Equipment: Always bring your telescope or DSLR camera, along with necessary accessories like lenses, tripods, and extra batteries.
  • Leave No Trace: Clean up your campsite, take all waste with you, and help preserve Nisargshala’s natural beauty.
  • Be Quiet: Maintain a peaceful atmosphere to enjoy the sounds of nature and allow fellow members to focus on stargazing.
  • Check Astronomical Conditions: Plan visits around weather and moon phases to maximize your stargazing or astrophotography session.

Dont's

  • No Open Fires: To protect the environment, open fires are strictly prohibited.
  • Avoid Bright Lights: Use red light or dim lighting to avoid disrupting your night vision and that of others.
  • No Loud Music: This is a peaceful space dedicated to enjoying nature and the stars, so please keep noise to a minimum.
  • Don’t Disturb Wildlife: Stay within designated areas and avoid harming the local flora and fauna.
