Torna Fort
Torna Fort, also known as Prachandagad, is one of the most important historical forts in Maharashtra. It holds the distinction of being the first fort captured by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the age of 16, marking the beginning of the Maratha empire. Situated in the Sahyadri mountain range, the fort stands at an elevation of approximately 4,603 feet and offers breathtaking views, historical structures, and scenic trekking routes.
Torna Fort is located around 18 kilometers from Nisargshala, roughly a 40-minute drive. Its close proximity makes it a perfect destination for a half-day trek or excursion for those staying at the camp.
