In the year 1646, a young Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj captured Torna Fort, marking the first great victory of Swarajya.

Standing proudly at 4,603 feet, Torna—also known as Prachandagad— is the highest fort in Pune district. Its rugged ridges, ancient gateways, and breathtaking cliffs continue to inspire explorers nearly four centuries later.
