Expedition route
Day 1: Pune → Shivtharghal → trek via Gopya Ghat → Nisargshala
Day 2: Nature-based morning at Nisargshala → breakfast → return to Pune
This should be positioned as a true monsoon crossing, not a standard sightseeing trek. Participants begin near the historic Shivtharghal landscape, walk through the dramatic Gopya Ghat route, and arrive at Nisargshala by evening—making the stay feel like an earned destination.
Event description
Some journeys are not measured by how far we walk, but by how deeply they stay with us.
The Shivtharghal Expedition is a two-day monsoon journey through one of the Sahyadris’ most atmospheric landscapes. From forest paths and rain-soaked ghat trails to mist, streams and open valley views, the group travels through Gopya Ghat and reaches Nisargshala by foot.
It is an expedition for people who want more than a weekend outing: a real trail, a shared challenge, warm food after rain, a night in nature and the quiet satisfaction of arriving together.
Suggested itinerary
Day 1 — Saturday, 15 August 2026
- 05:30 am — Reporting and departure from Pune
- 08:30 am — Breakfast en route / near Shivtharghal
- 09:30 am — Reach Shivtharghal; safety briefing and route orientation
- 10:00 am — Begin trek via Gopya Ghat
- 01:00 pm — Packed lunch at a safe sheltered point
- 01:45 pm — Continue forest-and-ghat traverse towards Nisargshala
- 05:30–06:30 pm — Expected arrival at Nisargshala
- 07:30 pm — Hot dinner
- 08:30 pm — Campfire-style reflection circle / monsoon stories
- 10:30 pm — Rest
Day 2 — Sunday, 16 August 2026
- 06:30 am — Wake-up tea and valley morning
- 07:30 am — Optional nature walk / river-side observation, weather permitting
- 09:00 am — Breakfast
- 10:30 am — Pack-up and departure for Pune
- 01:30–02:30 pm — Expected arrival in Pune
