Ride responsibly

Good rides begin with good preparation.

Every ride is supported by a designated ride team. A pre-ride safety briefing, group coordination and emergency response arrangements are covered before departure.

  • Valid driving licence, vehicle RC and insurance are mandatory.
  • ISI-certified helmet and appropriate protective riding gear are compulsory.
  • Bring a roadworthy motorcycle and check tyres, brakes, lights and fluids before the ride.
  • Fuel, personal bike expenses, maintenance and repairs are the participant's responsibility.
  • Follow the ride team's instructions and maintain group discipline.
  • No racing, dangerous overtaking or riding under the influence of alcohol.
  • Carry personal medication, drinking water and any items listed in the edition-specific checklist.
  • The ride plan and outdoor activities may be adapted for weather, road or trail safety.

How long is each ride?

Will there be a trek or walk?

Some editions may include a short guided walk or another outdoor experience. Details and difficulty level will be mentioned in the event listing.

Will we see stars or meteors?

Stargazing is an important part of the Ride to the Ridges spirit. What we can observe depends on the date, season, moonlight, weather and sky conditions. Meteor showers are occasional highlights, never guaranteed sightings.

Can I bring a pillion rider?

Pillion participation depends on the specific ride and will be clearly mentioned in the individual event listing.

Is fuel included?

Fuel, motorcycle maintenance, repairs, personal expenses and any bike rental are generally not included unless specified in the individual event listing.

What are the safety requirements?

Riders must carry a valid driving licence and vehicle documents, wear an ISI-certified helmet and appropriate protective gear, and follow the ride team's instructions. No racing, dangerous overtaking or riding under the influence of alcohol.
