Share Your Love For Nature
Join a community of volunteers, facilitators and educators creating meaningful experiences in the forests, rivers, mountains and night skies of the Sahyadri.
At Nisargshala, we do not simply conduct camps. We create opportunities for children, families and adults to slow down, observe, explore and build a deeper relationship with nature.
Why We Do What We Do
For many people today, nature has become something to visit occasionally.
A weekend destination. A holiday activity. A place to take photographs.
At Nisargshala, we believe nature is much more than that.
Nature is where curiosity awakens. Where confidence grows. Where children discover independence. Where families reconnect. Where people begin to see themselves as part of something larger.
Every trail walked, every star observed, every campfire conversation and every moment spent outdoors has the potential to create a lasting connection with the natural world.
That is why we need passionate people who can help create these experiences.

The Kind of People Who Thrive Here
Skills can be learned. Experience can be gained. But the most meaningful outdoor educators and facilitators share something deeper — a genuine respect for people, nature and the learning journey.
Curiosity
You enjoy asking questions, exploring new ideas and seeing the world with a sense of wonder.
Respect For Nature
You see nature not as a resource to consume, but as a living system to understand, appreciate and protect.
Empathy
You are patient with children, considerate towards others and attentive to individual needs.
Responsibility
You understand that people's safety, trust and experiences matter, and you take that responsibility seriously.
Continuous Learning
You remain open to feedback, willing to learn and eager to grow through every experience.
Team Spirit
You believe meaningful work happens when people collaborate, support one another and share a common purpose.
We do not expect you to know everything.
We expect you to be willing to learn.
At Nisargshala, every program is an opportunity to create a meaningful encounter between people and nature.
The role of a volunteer or instructor is not merely to conduct activities.
It is to help participants observe more carefully, listen more deeply, ask better questions and develop a lasting relationship with the natural world.

Perhaps your journey begins here.

It is what nature teaches you along the way.
A Few Questions You May Have
If you're considering becoming part of the Nisargshala community, here are answers to some of the questions people often ask.
Do I need prior experience in outdoor education or camping?
Not necessarily. For many volunteer roles, curiosity, responsibility and willingness to learn are more important than prior experience.
I am not an expert naturalist or trek leader. Can I still apply?
Absolutely. Many people begin their journey with limited outdoor experience. Knowledge and skills can be developed over time through participation and training.
Can working professionals volunteer on weekends?
Yes. Many members of the Nisargshala community contribute during weekends, seasonal programs and special events.
Are these paid positions?
Volunteer roles are generally unpaid. Certain facilitator, instructor and specialised positions may involve honorariums depending on responsibilities and experience.
How much time commitment is expected?
There is no fixed requirement. Some volunteers participate occasionally, while others become active members of the community throughout the year.
What kinds of programs can I be involved in?
Nature camps, family camps, trekking programs, astronomy events, monsoon experiences, environmental education initiatives, creative workshops and conservation activities.
What if I am unsure which role suits me?
That's completely normal. Our conversations and orientation process will help identify opportunities that align with your interests and strengths.
